STRATFORD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.)' *' *' ■ Stratford, Yesterday. A trap accident occurred in Broadway north 011 Saturday evening. It appears that Mr. Eichsteadt, of Midhirst, with two young ladies, were driving into Stratford, and when near St. Mary's .School the backboard broke, with the result that the horse swerved on to the footpath, and the trap, striking the .'oncrete kerb, overturned, throwing the occupants out. Luckily, beyond a few bruises no one was hurt; the trap, howI ever, was badly damaged. Mr. S. Myerseough is at present holding the annual musical examinations of the local centre connected with Trinity College. Mr. A. W. Reid has received cable advice that his son, James, who was serving_with the tunnelling corps in France, has been wounded. Butter-buyers are in attendance to-day regarding the disposal of this season's output. It is understood that the Midhirst Dairy Company .has decided to consign the season's output through Messrs Joseph Nathan & Co., Wellington, and F. V. Levannas & Co., of London. The Stratford Dairy Company meets on the 13th inst., to consider the question of dealing with this season's .-output.
