Through a typographical error in Friday's News it was made to ippcar that only £4847 was passed through the total isator on Thursday, whereas the turnover was £S4SS, an increase of nearly two thousand pounds on the figures for the Club's first totalisator meeting. Engaged in tne minor events at the Avondale Spring meeting are: Bisogne, Glenroy, Ticino, White Blaze, Klajtua and other familiar noddies. Winning owners it the Hunt Club meeting were: Messrs. T. R. Ward rode two winners, and others lo score were Roach, McCarteu, O'Shea, Lambess, 1 Brown, and Mr. C. Banks. The entries received for the Fourth Taranaki Stakes, to be run in IPIS, are very satisfactory. As usual, the principal nominators are Sir Ceo. Ciill'ord, T. 11. Lowry, (!. I). Creenwoocl. J. F. Reid, J. F. Buchanan, and "Mr Highdeii." Some of the horse-owners were complaining of the narrow fences a.t the Hunt Club meeting. The same fault I K.i to be found with the obstacles at I Dannevirke. This should be rectified at I future meetings. Mr. Bert Uoylo has been appointed ■handicapper to the Waverley Racing Club. The "plough" at Hawera lias received a touch up during the last week, and is now in good order for the big number of horses using it. Pink Pearl is said to be able to do anything on the tracks, but she let her party down badly here last week.
