Heavy rainstorms are seriously retarding the British harvest. ■HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. The Department of Agriculture, Industries and Commerce has received the following cablegram, dated London, August 26, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand. (Note: Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot:— Meat All descriptions of frozen meat are in small supply. There is no material change in the market; prices remain unchanged. New Zealand mutton, per lb, 8 6 /sd; ewe mutton, 8y 4 d; Argentine mutton, OVkd; New Zealand lamb, O'/ad; Argentine lamb, lid; Patagonian, exceptional, ll'Ad. There arc no quotations for New Zealand beef owing to s'hort supply. Argentine chilled beef, hinds, 9%d; fores, 7d. Butter.—The market continues firm. Danish, salted, per cwt., 202s to 2045; Irish creamery, salted, 184s to 188s; unsaltcd, 18os to 188s; Canadian, salted, lS2s to 180?; New Zealand, salted, lS4s to 180; Argentine, salted, 180s to 182s; unsalted, 182s to 180s; Dutch, salted, 178s to 182s. Cheese.—The market clos'ed firm at the advance. Canadian, white, per cwt., 101s to 103s; colored, 101s to 103s; English cheddar, 110s to 112s; New Zealand, white, 100s to 102?; dolored, 100s to 102s; States, white, 96s to 98s.
