CARDIFF, (From Our Own Correspondent). At the animal meeting of the shareholders of the Cardiff cheese factory the chairman (Mr. Richards), in review, ing the balance sheet and report, pointed ■out that the past season being so mild had caused an increase of over 800,000 lbs of milk and a considerable rise in the test averages,.and this, together with the rise in price of output through the war, helped to make a vary profitable season. But there were counterbalancing efi'ects, as increased prices in living, rises in the price of salt, cheese-cloth, and especially of rennet as well as an increase in wages and other management expenses which had the opposite effect. The plans and cost of a new factory were discussed by Messrs. Richards ar.'d Marchant, who enlightened the shareholder on many matters connected with the storage and shipment of produce and the action of the Board of Trade ro offers by the Factories' Association and the Government for acquiring cheese output for Imperial uses. Before the. election of four new directors the chairman returned thanks to the retiring directors for their services, and especially to Mr. Belcher, who was> retiring after filling the position since the factory first began. He also spoke of the great services Mr. Marchant had rendered the Company and desired the mpeting to unanimously return him for .the succeeding year, which was subsequently done. The new directors elected for the coming year were Messrs. Marchant, Belton, Bennett and David and Mr. Coleman was re-elected auditor.
