It was stated in tho Bankruptcy Court that Sandow's Limited, a bacon venture, resulted in the loss of £30,000. U.S. CRUISER WRECKED. Received August 31, 12.30 a.m.. New York, August 30. A. message from San Domingo states that the cruiser Memphis was driven ashore 'during a storm. Twenty lives were lost during the removal of the crew. The waters extinguished tho cruiser's fires. The commander reports that the vessel is a total wreck.
