INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Inglewood, Yesterday. The following enlistments are reported by Mr. R. J, Frewin, the recruiting oflicer: Messrs. C. A. Cramer, H. W. ■Franklyn, J. Hunter, A. Hunter, G. T. Stanley, L. E. Payne, G. Mace, and F. K. Speek, The next Red Cross Mart here is to be run entirely by Kaimata ladies, which is a sufficient guarantee of success. Sheep-worrying has been reported in the district lately. I understand that two farmers have lost a number of lambs, and in neither case were the dogs caught or dealt with. The ladies' golf championship matches, , which are well under way, web advanced another stage last week, Mrs. 0. Carroll beating Miss Esse, and Miss L. Laing beating Miss D. Laing. Last week-end a number of local golfers journeyed to New Plymouth, and had a riiost enjoyable day's outing with their Ngamotu friends. Ideal weather prevailed, and the course was in very good order, which was largely responsible for the good cards returned. Ngamotu propose paying a return visit at an early date.
