(From Our Own Correspondent.) Waitara, Saturday. Messrs. Fitzsimmons, Biougli, Oliver, and Plier. who leave on Monday morning to join the 20tl) Reinforcements, wore given a farewell social in the Clifton Hall last Thursday evening. The Mayor, on behalf of the townspeople, presented each of the men with gifts of appreciation. The flooi was .in excellent order, and the evening passed off most enjoyably. During the evening two greatly appreciated songs were rendered by Mr. Henderson, the accompaniments beiii" played by Mrs. f.'riffey. Messrs. j! Taylor and M. Fowler supplied the music for the dancing, with extras by Miss ..'upp, Harlin and Frost Mr. H. Moton acted as M.C. in his usual, efficient itjle

There was a fair, attendance at the Fast finders' Euchre Party and Dance held in the Clifton Hall on' Friday evening. A very enjoyable evening was spent, owing no doubt to the efforts of the energetic committee. The prizes for the euchre were won by—Mrs. ,f. Taylor (first), and Miss Kerr' (second); gentlemen's, Mi. Jas. Draper (first), Mr. Oscar Ulandci (second), and ■ Mr. Petrio (third). An excellent supper was solved, and dancing was then indulged in untii 1 a.m. The music was supplied by Mr AI. Fowler, and.Mr Eaglcton acted as .M.C.

The oeautifully worked Union .Taek donated to the Patrioti Committee, by .Mrs._ Golopp to be disposed of io'r patriotic purposes, has been raffled b* Mr. T. Buelianan, who succeeded in raising £ls, which handsome amount is being devoted to the Wounded Soldiers' Fund. The flag was drawn at the Soldiers' Farewell Social, Mr. Oscar being the lucky.winner.
