ACTION AGAINST A DOCTOR By Celegraph.—Press Association Wellington, Yeste'rday, Dr. Edward William Stfiytiie. of Ngapira, was sued in the Magistrate's Court to-day by the Wellington United Fiiendly Societies' Medical Institute for £125. The statement of claim set out that defendant was engaged by the Institute to act as medical officer lor three years at a salary of £SOO. After acting four days, defendant, under pressure from the local branch of the Medical Association, resigned, without giving three months' notice or a quarter's salary in lieu of notice, as provided by the agreement, putting the Institute to an e.vpense of £!)0C in medical fees on account of members. Judgment was given against defendant, who did not appear, for the amount claimed.
