A LIVELY ARTILLERY ACTION. FRENCH AIRMEN BUSY. deceived August I'2, 5.33 p.m Paris, August 12. A Salonika wireless bulletin states that there was a lively artillery fight in the region of Hill 227. where the Bulgarians abandoned many corpses. French aeroplanes bombed Strumnitza last night, and bombed ten enemy camps north of Doirau this morning. GENERAL SARRAIL'S ASSISTANT. Received August 13, ii.~> p.m. 'Paris, August 12, At the instance of General Sarrail (the Generalissimo at the Balkans), General Cordonnier has been sent to assist him in the co-ordination of the Allies' operations. FRENCH OFFENSIVE STARTED. Paris, August 11, The French have started a Balkan offensive.' They have captured a railway station in Serbia and seized the heights beyond the railway. VALUE OF ROUMANIAN HELP. Bucharest, August 11. La Ronmania's Salonika correspondent says the advance from Salonika is the means wherebv the Entente can pulverise Germanism in the Balkans, lie says that not only i; an Entente victory certain, but progress will be swift. The Salonika offensive should at last stimulate Roumania. It is destined to liberate the Peninsula, and forces us not to delay the liberation of Transylvania.
