! TARATA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The Tarata Dog Trial Committee has handed the Tarata Patriotic Committee a cheque for £2O, the profits of their last meeting, this making the committee's donation to the Wounded Soldiers' Fund. £3O. Last Wednesday was the coldest day experienced in Tarata for many years. In the evening a mi.vture of sleet anil snow fell. The Patriotic Concert and sale of gifts and dance, billed for Thursday, August 10. promises to be a big success. Everything is well in hand and all that is r quired is a fine night. Mr. Newton Ring has kindly consented to come out and unfurl the Tarata patriotic ilag, and I understand there are on it 21 names of the men who have gone to the front from the Tarata district. The dairy factory commenced receiving cream on August 1. It will not be donj before the factory will be in full swing sgain.
