To-day nominations will be received for the election of a councillor to fill the position rendered vacant owing to the resignation of Cr. Hancock. It is to be hoped the electors will bestir themselves and nominate some suitable person to fill the vacancy. At a time like this men of sound commercial experience arc required. In a few weeks ratepayers will be asked to vote for a loan to the board to purchase the Electrical Company's undertaking, and the ratepayers should ;ee that the management of such a concern is placed in the hands of men of business experience. GENERAL. There was only a small attendance at the Town Hall on Friday evening to pass the resolution regarding the second anniversary of the war. His Worship the Mayor and Mr. W. Hathaway (chairman of the .Stratford County Council), were the only speakers. The latter referred to th'e smal. attendance of the public, and thought it showed lack of interest in the present struggle Local residents might have rolled up in greater numbers, but Mr. Hathaway should also remember that it was a county affair as well, and county residents, were conspicuous liv their absence. The Stratford A. and P. Association have fixed November 2!) and 30 as the dates for their big show.
