At the annual conference of the Federation of Patriotic Relief Societies the following remits from Wairarapa were referred to the Advisory Board:-—That a copy of the medical and other reports which were placed before the Pensions Board when they decided on a man's pension, should be available to the secretary of the patriotic society in any special case the society is enquiring into, such documents to be treated as strictly confidential; That as a further means to prevent exploitation of war relief funds all officers of societies empowered to grant relief to returned soldiers endorse on the soldier's pay-book the name of the society granting relief and the date of grant, and that no relief be granted without the production of a oischarge.
