COST OP THE WAR,' New York, July 30. Newspapers' reviews of the two years of war emphasise the Allies' relatively strong position compared with a year ago. The papers publish interviews with many prominent men in Britain ' and Germany. The length of the war, the majority opine, will be for another six months to a year. Professor Ludwig, of Berlin, says: "If it lasts another year the Powers, except Germany, will be ruined." The Wall Street Journal has compiled' ' figures showing the war has cost 10,000 million sterling, of which the AllieO have spent 6600 million and the Central Powers 3400 million. The belligerents have borrowed 8000 million sterlinv, making their debts 13,400 million. The neutral nations who have been » forced to mobilise have spent 100 mil- ■ lions. . , j. t
