THE SESSION.

CLOSE EXPECTED NEXT WEEK.

By Telegraph.—Special to News. Wellington, Last Night.

The end of the session is expected next week. Word is going around the House to-night that the Government has made up its mind to bring the session. to a close by the end of next week or the beginning of the ■following week at the latest. Ministers do not deny the soft impeachment, and profess to see nothing on the order paper to prevent prorogation taking place on an earlier date. Private members' Bills will all have to go, and the Government measures will be limited to bare necessities, ft seems the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defence have their eyes on a sailing date that would not interfere witli public business while exactly suiti ing their private convenience.
