SHACKLETON'S EXPEDITION.
RELIEF SHIP DESPATCH. Ey Cahle.—Press Association.—Copyright London, July 21. On receipt of the New Zealand Government's cable slating that the repairs to the Aurora would occupy at least B0 days, owing to labor uncertainty, the British Government decided, owing to an urgent cable from Sir E. Shackleton, to despatch t vessel from England, though the journev from Plymouth to Elephant Island is'twice the distance iiom Wellington. The Hudson Bay Company, owners of the whaler Discovery, used by the 1!110 expedition, thereupon loaned the vessel for relief, and she leaves in a few days. She will be towed most of the journey to save time. It is considered that the* effort Sir E. Shaokleton is now making has little chance of success. —— ——_ *
