The Mayoress wishes to acknowledge, with thanks, a gift of £lO sent in from Egmont Village per Miss Nisbet, to be spent on stationery and soldiers' comforts; also a donation of £4 2s. per Mrs. F. Clifton, this being the balance left from the farewell social to L. and S. Black.
Mrs. Burgess has received from Christchurch flowers taken from the graves of Privates Henderson and Chapman, and has forwarded them to their respective mothers, and will be pleased to communicate with the relatives of other soldiers with the same object.
