At 11 p.m.. supper was announced ready in the dining-car. the wants of the numerous .passengers bein« attended io by the Ladies' Committee! Misses liurkett, Elliot, Kendrick. Mesdames Sutherland, Pennington, Andrews, Murgatroyd, Tluse, ITavward, Hosic, Donaldsen, and Floyd. A cake and gold mounted tusk went to Mrs. R. Donaldson and Mr. G. R. Anderson respectively. During stops of a few minutes for shimtiiif. purposes, soi>"s wer rendered by Mr. P. Roberts and >lr. C. Whyte. The music for the dancing, which was kept going until the early hours of Tuesday morning, was supplied by Mr. ,T Taylor, with extras by Mr. M. Fowler, Misses Frost, Badley and Jupp. The onerous duties of M.C. were carried out i y Fireman Donaldson, who was assisted by Porter D. Brcmner, and for the Leap Year waltz, Misses L. Birkctt and R. Elliot. The men leaving on Monday morning next to join the 19th Reinforcements are to be given a farewell social in the Clifton Hall on Thursday evening the 20th inst, when it is hoped the public will come forward in their usual large numbei and help make the evening a success. A cordial invitation to be present is extended to all soldiers home on leave as well as to the departing men. The best of music, floor, and supper can be relied on. A first-class musical evening is promised on Thursday evening the 27th inst, when a concert in aid of the funds of the Waitara Municipal Brass Band will be held in the Clifton Hall. Selections will be played by the Band, and the Sunfl»wer Entertainers have something in stare that will take up the latter part of the programme, which promises to be a great draw. The Band have responded nobly to the numerous calls made upon their services by patriotic and other functions, and it is hoped the public will reciprocate and come along in full force on Thursday evening to help swell the band's funds, which at present are at a very low ebb. The dredge belonging to' the Harbor Board, which has been lying idle for a number of years, has recently been overhauled, put in working order, and has now commenced operations alongside the newly constructed wharf.
