MAN DROWNED FROM DREDGE. By telegraph.—Press Association. Hokitika, July 17. Joseph Shore, a married man, who was engine-driver on the Success dredge, was drowned last night when going aboard. The body was recovered early this morning. FATAL ACCIDENT TO RETURNED SOLDIER. Greymouth, July 17. A discharged soldier, John Maher, who fought in the fiallipoli campaign, met his death yesterday while hunting a bullock. He was recently appointed stockman at the local abattoirs. The evidence points to his having fallen from his horsed He was picked up with a broken neck, and the stirrup was attached to his foot. Deceased was 34 years of age.
