FATHERLAND IN DANGER. EFFECT OF ALLIES SUCCESSES. AN APPEAL TO THE PEOPLE. Coper*iagen, July lfl. The ominous monotany of the AngloFrench success is rejected in the new tone of the Germar press. There are long and significant articles in the Berlin rewspapers exhorting Germans not to listen to those complaining in the country and demanding a general strike wth a view of ending the slaughter. The press appeals to the populace for sinlge-minded loyalty and that Germans shall not hamper the military organisation by compelling it to "deal with enemies at home while the British, French and Russians are standing on the vast fronts threatening to penetrate the Fatherland in the autumn. Germany's enemies outnumber her forces by two to one. Japan is sending enormous quantities of food and ammunition, while Germany depeds on her own production. The British bombardment for seven days was murderous, and the War Staff admits Germany's inferiority in artillery. We have not any surety that the furious attacks on the gateway of our Empire will fail, therefore we must be 'united. GENERALS DISMISSED. NO REASON GIVEN Received July 17, 6.35 p.m. Rotterdam, July 16. The Berliner Tageblatt says the Kaiser has pensioned seven generals, who have been holding important war commands. All have tendered their resignations. They are Generals von Bredow, von Weinskown, von We, von Weinstkonski, Glokke, Cramer, and von Bauer, who definitely leave the army. Generals von KJaisfc and Kpramer have been given home garrisons. No reason for the dismissals has been assigned. A TRENTINO DEPUTY SHOT. Amsterdam, July 10. Dr. Battiste, a former Reichsr'ath representative in the Trentino, who enlisted in the Italian army, has been captured and executed.
