CHAMPION GOLFER'S DEATH. THE PARLIAMENT HOUSES FIRE. BAVBD A DISASTER, , Ottawa, July 9. Major Laird, the champion Canadian golfer, has been killed in France., The demolition of the burned Parliament Houses has disclosed such defective workmanship as to indicate that they vould likely have collapsed bodily if the fire had not intervened.
