EAHOTU. I (l-'roin Our Own Correspondent). The Ladies* Uuild afternoon-tea was M'iy well patronised, and there was a good crowd at the dance in the evening, realising over £ll. The balance-sheet for the Wounded Soldiers' Fund is as follows: —Receipts: Sale of stock £l9B, cash donations £l3B 12s lid, concert (door, etc.) £3B 17k, mock court £ls 18s !)d, collection at hall £4 19s, tidal £3H(i 7s 3d. Expenditure. Advertising £2, hall hire £1 18s .'id, <L Schinekle 10s, ear hire £4. small goods (supper) £2 3s, total £lO lis 3d. v Mr. W. Fleming and Mr. T. Willcox made further contributions of £3 and £5 10s respectively to the fund, which is included in the above. Our factory is installing a large regenerator, which will deal with two thousand gallons of milk per hour. The factory is also having the whey tanks elevated to save the carts the hard pull up the rise from the old place. The manager (Mr. Evans) is giving the machinery the usual wintei overhaul. Two enterprising young ladies of Rahotu have volunteered to take on share-milking for one of the local farmers, but their offer was not accepted. i Mi's. C. Penwardon, who was taken to New Plymouth very ill, will soon be able to come home again, we are glad to hear. There are manv changes in the district. Mr. and Mrs. Trye and family have gone to live on the Kina Road, Mr. and Mrs. Anglesea and family have left also, and Mr. and Mrs. Candish are going to reside at Tataranmika. This will make a great difference to the school. Mr. and Mrs. F. Uothevy are going to the Pihama district shortly.
