ACTION OF DIOCESAN SYNOD. Wellington, I-ast Night. After a discussion lasting over several sittings, the Wellington Diocesan Synod :o-day adouted the following resolutions: (1) That in the opinion of this Synod it will be in the interests of the eountiy to close the bars of hotels at S p.m., niso to forbid the practice of shouting during the period of the war; (2) that, a copy of'this resolution be sent to the Oovcr'ii'iient urging it to bring in -Icgislation to this effect or to authorise a referendum on the subject.
