The Wanganui Chamber of Commerce are calling a conference of representatives of local bodies between Oiialame and lYangaiini, also Parliamentary representative;' in the a'en aliened, to discuss the possibility of building n railway line between P.netihi and Wanganui. This is a sequel to the intimation of the Minister of Railways that a trial survey route could not be carried out owing to the number of surveyors who had enlisted. The conference will discuss the question of building a railway under the provisions of the Local Railways Act in the event of the Government nos being prepared to carry out the work.
