Mrs. JR. Tabor is on a visit to Now Plymouth.
-Mr. James Rattenbury is :i patient ut th« hospital, where he underwent a successful operation. The Rev. E. P. Cook, curate of St. Mary's, is at present an inmate of the hospital, where he is undergoing an operation prior to going to the front. Mr. C. .T. l?yan, the elective member of the Land lioard, who was returned unopposed, took his .seat foi the third term, at the Board meeting yesterday, after being congratulated by the chairman (Mr. G. H. Bullard), and members of the Board.
A London cable states that the Duke oi Devonshire has been appointed Gov-ernor-General of Canada.
Lieutenant Gladstone Ward, son of Sir Joseph Ward, has received his full commission in the transport section of the Imperial Army Service Corps.
