DOMINION'S PART.

—_________ TREATMENT OF SICK AND WOUNDED. DISTRIBUTION OF GIFTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. His Excellency the Governor has received telegrams from the Secretaries of State for War and the Colonies, advising the New Zealand Government that the Imperial Government has decided that all New Zealand troops at present serving in France, who may be sick or wounded, will be evacuated to the United Kingdom. In cases where men are not alile to return to the firing line they will be sent back to New Zealand by hospital ships or transports. In respect to the New Zealand troops who are serving in Egypt, and who may be sick or wounded, these will also be evacuated to the United Kingdom. In eases where they are likely to suffer from the climate, or require special treatment, the Governor has been in correspondence both with the Secretary of State for the Colonies and with the New Zealand War Contingent Association, and after discussion with the Rt. Hon. the Premier, and t\je Hon. Jie Minister of Defence, it is suggested that so far as New Zealand troops in France are concerned it appears that the services of New Zealand War Contingent Association would be the best channel to utilise for the distribution of gifts for men in the firing line and Red Cross goods. This Association will have the opportunity of receiving the advice of Brigadier-General Richardson (who commands all New Zealand troops in the United Kingdom), and of the general .officer commanding the Australasian troops in the field, who will advise as to the best means of distribution of such gifts, which can be Jent as hitherto by transports and, when possible, by hospital ships, but in the latter case only Red Cross goods can be despatched. Opportunity will arise from time to time to send gifts to the New ■Zealand troops in Egypt, and these can alio be sent by transports and consigned to ilus officer commanding the New Zealand base in tliat country
