CARRANZA'S SUPERIOR FORCES. Times THitt fiydhey Sun Mvices. London, June 25. The Times' correspondent in Washington says (Jermaji intrigue was active in fomenting the Mexican trouble, hoping that war would interfere with the supplies of munitions to the Allies. Americans are anxious, with Piesident Wilson, to avoid a conflict. The Times' correspondent at Xew York says that General IPCrshlng cojnmands 11,000 men. Oarranza has collected large forces, greatly outnumbering them, -amHtepeff-to cut off Gene*ol Pershing from his base. Mexicans assert .that the Americans attacked first. There is evidence that Gomez arranged a parley under a flag of teuce, but as he neared the American lines he seemed to fear attack and raised his baud. Mexicans hidden in the bush turned on a ma-chine-gun, mowing down negro cavalry, and an hour's fight ensued.
