Sydney, June 20. The Government Statistician's estimate of the population in New South Wales at December 1 last, was 1,868,200, an increase for the year of 0016. The excess of births over deaths was 33,275. The birth rate was 2,i below the average of the previous fiv> years. Illegitimate births averaged SI per thousand, and tlie death-rate 10 per cent, per fifty thousand, which is slightly above the decennial average. A SHEARING TROUBLES. _, ~ Sydney. June 20.
