STRATFORD.

* __ j| (From Our Own Correspondent.) ' Stratford. June 20. In the report of the Magistrate's Court proceeding in yesterday's issue, regarding the trouble at Douglas we ' mentioned that William Watson, Frederick Ncedham, William Kea, and Thomas Gilliard were lined for stonethrowing. This was not correct, as the , charges against 'Rea and (.milliard woe , withdrawn by the ps'ice. We express ' our regret for the error. ' On Saturday '"Sailors' Day" will be . observed in Stratford, Tn the afternoon < the Anzac Minstrels will give a perform- ] ance in Broadway, in aid of the widows ] and dependents of the sailors. Collec- ' tions will be made during the perform- j ance, and it is hoped that the public will readily respond to such a worthy object. ; At the Court this morning Wiliiain ■ O'Brien was fined ss. and costs 17s (1(1, i for drunkenness. The fame accused was remanded for a week on a charge of j stealing £9 las, the property of John 1 Hedgeman. The following will entrain at Stratford on Monday next to join the 18th .(Reinforcements: —P. Dodunski. E. J. Flynn, A. E. Lamb. W. Cray. H. Gallagher, E. Geedrum, J. Adamson, E. J. :■ Ure, H. T. Signal, C. Uctallo, H. Mowat, . G. C. Calvert, I At the annual meeting of the Electrical Supply Company the retiring directors, Messrs N. I. King and G. E. Wilson, were re-elected, and Mr. T. Harry Penn was again elected auditor. At a subsequent meeting of directors Mr. Robert Masters was re-cleeted chairman. The company has now 0(5 horsepower in motors connected, while 23 miles of lines have been erected. During the last year a complete system of isolation plugs and boxes has been erected, so that practically any desired portion of the line can be isolated. About seven miles 'of high-tension lines have been renewed, End the Broadway line from Fulton Street to Regan Street has been totally reconstructed. In addi-

tion to this work the company lias now extended the lines to the end of the Nash Road, where a 5-h.p. motor drives a sheep-shearing plant for Messrs McDonald Bros. The company has now 145 miles of line wire erected, serving close on 70!) connectionsA'HOSPITAL ROW Dr Paget and the chairman of file local Hospital Board arc "going at it" hammer and tongs, over grievances, real or fancied. The doctor is a very angry man just now, and relieves himself by firing off this slab at the chairman through the local paper: —

in return for relieving the Board of its paramount duty of finding a substitute for its Medical. Superintendent, which, owing to his sudden illness devolved upon it, despite any ''rules" or "fixed policies," I receive a slap in the face from the Chairman and u- rude rebull' from the Board and (don't forget it) a resolution of appreciation and thanks! Let me, therefore, announce my "fixed policy," which is this: That since the Board"mistakes generosity for weakness I shall withdraw my services from the Hospital until (1) I receive an apology from the Chairman or the Board for his discourteous action and unfair treatment: (2) I have received adequate remuneration from the Board for my services. Such remuneration to be decided by the Inspector-General of. Hospitals after hearing both sides. (S) The "fixed policy" of the Board is so far "unfixed" as'to allow the Board to render decent treatment and courtesy to those deserving it; to show proper consideration for the welfare and feelings of parents, including giving me the rigjit to treat my own cases in the Hospital without having to ask a favor and be discourteously refused it and not, as heretofore, be forced to pass over to another, patients I have treated tor years, when I am prepared to render gratuitous treatment in the Public HosI pital to those whose position demands it. ' 1 ask no remuneration from the Board ' for this concession, neither would I take I it. I merely claim the right to continue to attend those I have attended for years and not have their want of wealth an' excuse for depriving them of their right to the gratuitous services I am willing and anxious to give.
