Le Petit Journal interviewed M: Pokjwssi, a Russian delegate, who stated that the Conference has been most satisfactory. There was complete imanunity or. all questions. Sir ("J. K. Faster, the Canadian delegate ?a:d that when the results of the Conference became known it would !)e seen that t! e Allies had displayed a spirit if loyalty and confidence, and had labored zealously to achieve the common .aimoo f making impossible an economic conquest, or commercial activity, by the Centra! Powers, either in Europe or in the ivorld. The result of the Conference would greatly and favorably influence lie conduct of the war on land and sea, and vas a guarantee against any surprise defeat in the economic and commercial domain, which would otherwise seem to threaten us. - ■
Le Petit Parisian says that the Allies' common policy lias a three-foUl aim: Fim, to render absolute the policy already formulated of total prohibition of trade bet'.uen subjects of the Allies and lie enemy; secondly, to provide Indus! ml restoration to the regions which have suffered by the war; thirdly, to transform radically the system of commercial treaties that existed before the war. The Conference adopted measures to avert possible dang?r during the period between .the cessation of hostilities and the signing of peace, nnd it was intended to preserve the Al-; lies' markets from the invasion of merchandise which is new "lying in enormous quantities in the warehouses of the Central Empires.
