DOMINION WINTER SHOW.
AT HAWERA. Prospective exhibitors are reminded that general entries will close on Tuesday, June 20, at 10 p.m., with the secretary, Hawera. All sections of this great show have been revised and added to. The increase in the building space has enabled many more firms to be given accommodation, so that in every department it is confidently expected this year's show will be a record. In the farm and garden section many good prizes and specials are offered. Trophies include two handsome silver cups presented by Sutton and Son (England), wheelbarrow by G. Syme and Co.. Ltd., scwt. of manure by Kemptkorne, Prosper and Co., Ltd., and a points prize of halt a ton of manure by Borthwick and Sons, Ltd. The Public Schools Division is an interesting section. Exhibits iii the garden class must be the bona fide produce from the garden of the exhibiting school. There are good prizes for best collection of farm roots, not less than six, and school garden notebook. The essay on "The Part New Zealand is Playing in the Present War," has much general interest as well as a distinct educational value, and should bring a large number of good entries. Prizes are also given for essays on "The Advantages of the Winter Show." All the other sections are brought up to date, with a view to attracting the largest possible number of entries. As stated, Tuesday, June 20, is the date of closing for exhibits.
