4 EXPECTED OX FRIDAY. (By Telegraph.—Special to Daily Xews.) Wellington, Last Ni^lit! The Financial Statement is expected to be brought down this week, pro'.mh'y on Friday. Replying to an interjection by Mr. Willord in Hie House •this afternoon the Prime Minister said that he thought be might so far trench on the province or tho Minister of Finance as to say that the Budget would probably ho brought down this week. It had been considered by Cabinet, and was now in the hand* of the.printer. Ho could not, of course. imlifUte it, contents, but would recommend those members who were anxious to know'all about tlie Government'* loan and taxation proposals, and its measures for dealing with the cost of living, to reserve their criticism till they saw'the document. Something will depend upon the progress made with the Discharged Snldie--. Settlement Bill and other Government measures in the meantime, but the genoral opinion is that the Budget will make its appearance on Friday.
