The death is announced (it Wangamn of Mr, John Hamilton, aged 83. Leslie Follett, eldest son of Mr. C, Follett. of Marton, was one of the victims of the North Sea fight, the parents having received a cable to that effect on Saturday, At the Elthani Church on Sunday night the Rev. Mr Welsh announced that the Rev. M. Cnlliforil had accepted the call to the pastorate of Knox Church, and that his induction would take place on June 21. Dr. Gilbert Dive, who will he remembered as a brilliant Hawera hoy, who fulfilled early promise by his tareer ;\t Wanganui Collegiate School and in his medical course in London, is serving a! an army doctor in France. He lias the rank of colonel.—Star. Jt is expected that the. Rev. H. T. Peat, of the Rotorua Methodist Church, will leave New Zealand at the end of the month, to take up the position of chaplain in connection with the work of the Y.M.C.A. at the front. Private telegrams received in Hawern report tho death of Mrs. Cibsmi, wife tf Mr. Raymond Gibson, solicitor, for' merly of Hawera, which took place at M. Albans, Christclmrch, yesterday. The deceased, who was Miss 'May Aris before -.he married, was well known in Hawera, having been a member of tho District High School teaching Waff. Miss McCulloch, M.A.. of the Secondtry Department of the Stratford District High School, has accepted an appointment in the Dannevirke High School Among the now Justices of the Peace, whose names were gazetted hist week, appear the following: Messrs.
