EAST AFRICA.
BRITISH SUCCESSES. GERMAN COMMANDER CAPTURED. Received June 8, 9.50 p.m. London, June S. General Northey reports that the British columns crossed Nyttssaland on the German East Africa frontier on May, 25th, and pursued the enemy as far as Nenutengule, capturing prisoners and stores. General Murray, commanding the Rhodesian column, is investing the Namema forts. The garrison sortied on June 2nd, hut suffered heavy casualties many being taken prisoner, including the commandant, a German. Native levies and carriers are demoralised and are deserting. Our losses were small.
