GOLDEN WEDDING.

—' FESTIVITIES AT DURHAM ROAD. A large company assembled at the re. sidence of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cornev, senr., of Durham road, on Wednesday last, 011 the occasion of the celebration of their golden wedding . Six sons and three daughters, with their families, numbering over 50, as well as many relatives ami friends, were present. Photos of four generations, as well as photos of the family and guests, were taken. A sumptuous repast was laid out in a large marquee erected for the purpose. A large three-decked wedding cake, made by the daughters, and tastefully decorated with gold and orange blossoms, was conspicuous on (lie tables. ,

After full justice had been done to the good things provided, the Rev. Ireland proposed the health of the hride and bridegroom. He congratulated them 011 completing 50 years of married life, and wished them continued joy and happiness. Mr. Thomas Hamiiierton, who had known Mr. Corney before his marriage, testified to his excellent qualities, and gave an interesting account of the early days. Messrs Parkins, B. Laurence and E. Chnttcrton also offered congratulations :ind good wishes for many days of joy and happiness. Mr. R. Corney proposed the toast of "The Boys at the Front," three grandnons being away in the cause of the Empire. Games were then indulged in by the young folks, and a most enjoyable day was spent by all.
