In the Supreme Court, William James Irwin was sentenced to Ave years' hard labor on a charge of incest, and two years additional on charge of theft from launches in the harbor. Waitgamii, Yesterday. Mr. Mackay, Mayor of Wanganui, has wired to the Mayors of all towns suggesting that Saturday week, June 17, be observed as Sailors' Saturday, and street collections taken up in aid of the widows and ' orphans bereaved by the naval battle. Dunedin, Yesterday. The men on the Maunganui and Tahiti left Dunedin for the north at 11,54 having been previously accorded a civic reception and entertained at luncheon. The Dunedin Clumber of Commerce ha 9 resolved to address a letter to the Government urging, in the ev#nt of a war loan being floated in the Dominion, that provision be iwade for the acceptance of debentures or stock in payment of death duties. ;> Auckland, June 7. Henry Johnson, a married man, was killed by the collapse of a derrick used for transferring cement from the steamer Mahuranjia to the steamer Westralia.
