Out of nineteen runneis in the Telegraph Handicap at Otaki the first and second favorites paid the dividends, hut in a field ol six in the next event the rank outsider of the sextette was first home. Kooya ran two fine races" at Otnki, and in better going may be ticketed a certain winner. Revocation allowed promising form at Haw era last month, and opened his winning account in the Final Hack Scurry at Otaki 011 Monday. JVirkenetta and Rio made most of the running, but Revocation came fast when Xodder said the word and won liieelv by half a length. Srtange to say the three best backed horses in the field of fourteen filled lite places. Punters who have been waiting for ''ore were all ,; set" 011 Monday, hut the good thing went under to Kukri by a narrow margin. All the same. Fore's performance gives promise of better things. The mare has not done much of late, and was rather rouglilv treated in being asked to concede a stone to a recent winner sucb as Kukri. Carmont, wiht three firsts, was the most successful horseman at the Otnki meeting. R. Reed rode two winners, and others to score were A, Ollivcr, A. Lawrence, TT. Young, 0. McCarten. C. ICmerson. and L. Nodder. Maid 0' Oowrie was pitted against the hot crowd in the big race at Otaki on Monday, and shaped well, fieorge led to the turn, where Maid o' Oowrie and Hushabye were also prominent.. Lady Louisa and Koova finished fast, and paid the dividends, but Maid o" fiowrle was only one and a-half lengths from the winner.
