PATRIOTIC FUNDS.
STATEMENT BY MINISTER. DOMINION'S GREAT AID. By Telegraph— Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Minister for Internal Affairs made a statement in the Honse to-day, regarding patriotic funds, showing that the funds received oy patriotic societies throughout the Dominion, amounts disbursed, and the balance in hand at 31st December, 1915. The table compiled by the department showed that the funds collected amounted to £1;492,954. There had been administered for relief, £11,327; equipment minister for relief, £11,327; equipment and goods purchased, .£80,59.7; remitted overseas for special purposes, £381,675; expenses and refunds, £32,4G5; funds in hand on 31st December, 1915, £980,890. The Department, in addition, received large' sums from private donors and other sources to add to this. Other sums are known to be in hand, nut had not bene audited. The contributions of the people of the Dominion for patriotic purposes will amount to, if not ej><ceed, two millions pounds.; i
