IRELAND.
A GUESS. AT BASIS OF SETTLEMENT. London, June 2. The Evening Standard states that the basis of an agreement has been readied on the Irish question. It is proposed immediately to establish a consisting of the present Nationalists • in the House of Commons, thus avoiding an inopportune election in Ireland. Ulster will remain under the Imperial Parliament unless she chooses to be governed by her own provincial parliament. Mr. Lloyd George seeks to satisfy both parties, and a chance is left open if bridging the gulf after the war with a full settlement of the whole problem.
