GERMANS RETIRING. AS ADVANCE FROM THE SOUTH. Wellington, May 30. The High Commissioner reports under date May 29, 11.20 a.m.: — Oar troops on the northern border of Rhodesia and Nyassaland on Thursday advanced 20 miles into German territory over .the whole front between Lakes Xyassa and Tanganyika. ' The enemy were competed to retire from Ipiawt, 21 miles north of Karminga, and Igamba, ,18 miles north-east of Fort Hill, towards New Langenberg. The South Africa and NyassaJand troops effected good #ork during the' night, bridging and crossing the river Sangwe. General Smuts reports that a railway station on the Usambara railway was occupied on Thursday. Another column occupied tesara, 18 miles south, the enemy withdrawing from the same.
