RETURNED SOLDIERS.
TECHNICAL EDUCATION, In his report to the Education Board yesterday, Mr. A. Gray (Director of Technical Education in Taranaki), stated that: "In order to bring under "the notice of returned soldiers the privileges extended to them by the Board in connection with technical education, a committee has been formed consisting of the chairman of the Board, Mr. J. Clark, four returned soldiers, and the director. It is not intended to draw up any comprehensive scheme with regard to tin's matter, but to get to work straight away. Each case can be dealt with as it comes under notice, and any member of the committee will be glad to give all information. I may say that of the four men representing the soldiers on the committee three were able to select helpful classes as the result of a few minutes' conversation. With regard to men living outside of New Plymouth, there is the difficulty of distance to be overcome, but if any such men will communicate with any member of the committee, every effort will be made to help them." The report was adopted.
