i ANOTHER RAID ON VENICE.
ITALIAN PRINCESSES' NARROW ESCAPE. Milan, May IS. Austrian aeroplanes on Tuesday bombed Venice, and then, assisted by spies in the air. they raided Mestre at a time when the Italian princesses were travelling to meet the Queen. Italian aeroplanes with starshells drove off the raiders, who were following the train. The populace cheered the royalties on their escape. ■. RAID ON ROULERS. Amsterdam, May 18. iAn Allied aeroplane bombed military stores at Roulers. MUCH ACTIVITY. GERMANS LOSE THREE PLANE-., Paris, May 17. A communique says:—There were thirty-three aeroplane actions on the Verdun sector. We felled three German aeroplanes and lost none. We also brought down two German aeroplanes at Rezonville and Bandesapt, SEVENTEEN NOTCHES. INTREPID FRENCH AIRMAN. Received May 19, 5-5 p.m. Paris, May 18. French airmen downed thirty-five German machines in March and thirty-two in April. The French in the same period lost nineteen machines. The aviator Navarre still leads. He has now downed seventeen machines, and marks each victory by a mark on his machine-gun.
