The twenty-fifth anniyersary of the Franco-Russian alliance was celebrated by a banquet at which Ar. Rodzianko (President of the Duma) presided. A distinguished assemblage included MM. Sazanofl', Stunner, Viviani, and Thomas. At. Rodzianko said that the alliance had been cemented by blood, and Russia was more than ever determined to continue this monstrous war until evil was crushed, and right and truth triumphed. SI. SazanojT said that the Allies were confident of the final issue, and Europe would be freed from the most odious yoke ever seen.
