BULGARIANS IN THE COMMONWEALTH. Sydney, May 19. Considerable unrest and indignation was caused at Broken Hill at the arrival of twenty-two Bulgarians, under military escort, from the concentration camp; at Sydney, to work in the mines. A public meeting called to protest demanded their immediate removal. Melbourne, May 10. Mr. Jensen has announced that a reciprocal arrangement has been made with the Bulgarian Government not to detain Bulgarians under 17 or over 55, nor to intern Bulgarians of any age who arc aible to provide for themselves. DEBATE ON CONSCRIPTION. Melbourne, May 19. The House of Representatives continued the debate on conscription. Mr. Watt, advocating its adoption, said that most of the big war work would have to be done by October. If the Allies could not definitely win then, they would lose. Mr. Anstey asked for the conscription of wealth to the extent of one-fifth of the possessions of everybody in Australia.
