MASONIC INSTALLATION.

MOUNT EGMONT LODGE. No. (170, ENGLISH CONSTITUTION. There was a large gathering of Freemasons at the Good Templar Hall last night, on the occasion of the installation of Bro. Percy James Hoyland White as Worshipful Master of the Mount Egment Lodge, No. 670, English Constitution, which was established in 1853. The gathering was a ery representative one, among other visitors being: Wor. Bros. P. Lewis, P.D.S.G.W.; D. Meldrum, P.D.J.G.W.; K. H. Eeanev, D.G.S.B.tf J. H. Burnet. D.G., Supt. W.j A. J. Weekes, P.D.G.S.W.; A. G. Muir, and Bros. N. G. Baggett, D.G.S., and Geo. Murch, all of Lodge Tongariro, No/705, Wanganui. The Grand Lodge'of Ireland was represented by P.P.G.M. A. Goldwater. Both the Ngamotu and De Burgh Adams Lodges were well represented, and brethren were present from all the lodges in Taranaki, as well as from the other provincial districts. Wor. Bro. H. J. M. Wells occupied the chair, and received the visitors.

The beautiful ceremony was ably performed by Wor. Bros. D. Meldrum and P. Lewis, who installed Bro. P. J. H. White, the W.M. elect, into the chair of King Solomon, according to ancient custom. Wor. Bro. W. M. Perry acted as master of ceremonies, whilst the musical portions of the ceremony were in the hands of Bro. W. Hoskin (organist), and Bro. F. W. G. McLood (trumpeter).

The Wor. Master invested his officers for the ensuing year as follows: 1.P.M., Wor. Bro. 11. J. M. Wells; S.W., Bro. E. H. Carter; J.W., Bro, H. V. S, Griffiths; treasurer, Wor. Bro. E. Chatterton; secretary, Wor. Bro. F. Bellringer; Director of Cer., Bro. Wells; organist, Wor. Bro.W. •M. Perry; S.D., Bro. K. B. J. Bain; J.D., Bro. S.'T. ,1611; I.G. Bro. Roy L. Parkin; chaplain, Bro. D. Ritchie; senior steward, Bro. W. E. Keating; junior stewards, Bros. S. A ,H. Robb, W. R. Home, and A. G. Mason; tyler, Wor. Bro. J. Aslier.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, an adjournment was made to the Forester's Hall, Gill Street, where Bro. Wooller had prepared an excellent repast. After full justice had been done to the good things provided, a toast list was gone through, and at intervals songs were rendered.

Amongst those who contributed were: Wor. Bro. Perry, song; Bro. Hogg, song; Wor. Bro. Duigan, song (encored); Bro. Arnold, recitation. Bro. Shore presided at the piano.
