RUSSIA'S TASK.
ENEMY ATTACKS REPULSED. Received May 14, 5.5 p.m. Petrograd, May 13. A communique says: A German offensive is in progress on the outskirts of the village of Tepukn, in the Jacobstadt region. The enemy artillery destroyed the village. The Germans" also made an offensive south-west of Lake Medmi9 unsuccessfully. We repelled the enemy's advance near Novo Alexinetz, and a Turkish offensive in the direction of Bagdad was repulsed.
IN THE CAUCASUS. TURKS REPULSED •Received May 14, 11.30 p.m. Petrograd, May 13. A Caucasus communique say? that the Turks delivered a merciless night attack on a lofty range dominating the Erzindooaii region. Our detachiment9 took 400 prisoners, and our advance guard easily overcame the Turkish offensive in the Mamahatun region. Our left wing defeated the Turks in a two days' battle, capturing two thousand rifles and much ammunition.
