ORIGINAL VERSE.
IN MEMORIAM: LIEUT. H. M. LEPIPER. We mourn the loss of one so brave, His life in Freedom's cause he gave. Thou' a more lad just fresh from school. Yet in the battle calm- and cool. The cross for duty bravely done He may not wear—he only won. Called hence from midst of war and strife Unto a higher nobler life, Where never sound of war may come Nor soldier wake to martial drum. —C M. Mnngorci, April 25.
