RUAHINE LAND BALLOTS.
SOLDIERS SUCCESSFUL. Ey Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Yesterday. At the Land Board meeting to-day a ballot was taken for sections in the Rnahine Survey District, twenty-one miles from Mangaweka. Preference was given to returned soldiers, men on active service, men showing proof of enlistment, and landless applicants with dependents. The ballot resulted: Section 7, Block 5, 503 acres (29 applicants), Mathew H. Hammond (Taihape), a rejected recruit; Section 8, Block S, 786 acres (24 applicants), Frederick Hammond (Taihape), a rejected recruit; Section 1, Block 6, 708 acres (2(1 applicants), James 0.
