GERMANY.

GERMAN-AMERICAN SITUATION. NOTE REGARDED AS HOSTILE. Time's and Sydney Sun Services. London, April 27. The German-American situation is uncertain. The German public is affronted at the directness and outspokenness revealed by the full text of the Note, regarding it as hostile and bellicose. The Vienna press agrees that the situation is very serious, but asserts that Austria will not renounce the practice of torpedoing vessels in the Mediterranean. The Austrian Government is in constant touch with Berlin regarding the answer, and a breach between America and Germany would be immediately followed by Austria, and probably by Turkey and Bulgaria.
