The German press is restrained and cautious regarding the. secret session of the British Parliament, and is obviously surprised that the crisis has been so quickly overcome. The French press is cordial and tactful, and evidently anticipates the quick introduction of compulsion. A FRENCH ABPRECIATION. Times and Sydney Sun Services. London, April.2s. Referring to the introduction of compulsory service in Britain, La Figaro says that Britain realises that her Continental Allies are hampered in the struggle for world libei'tie,. because they hnve not got the ocean on all frontiers. Britain has decided to sacrifice her rights and ancient privileges for fair iplay and honor. France is delighted with this act from the proud British people.

Speaking impressively and deliberately, and addressing the Speaker, he said: ''l beg, sir, to call your attention to strangers who are present." The Speaker rose and said: "The question is, 'are strangers ordered to withdraw 1"
There was a general cry of "Aye," with a few scattered "Noes "
The division was challenged, and the question on being put a third time Ivas carried without division.
