GREAT EASTER HANDICAP.-6 Reval, 1; 5 Findhorn, 2j 1 Flying Start, 3. All started. Reval took charge when leading into the straight. The fold were hunched at the distance. Findhorn got clear of Flying Start and made up ground, but Reval stayed on and won by three ports of a length. Time, 1.27 1-5.

Guy Fawkes was bred by M:\ George Sole; Guy Fawkea' dam, Mako Mako, was by Don Juan from a mare of Redwood's, brought here at the same time as the draught horse known as old Wellington. Mako Mako was afterwards owned by Mr. J. Wells, who bred Silvio, Omata, Lord Onslow, Lady Onslow, awl The Fraud. I think you will find that Guy. Fawkes ran second in a cross-country event (probably Takapnna Steeplechase), and won the Great Northern Steeplechase about a fortnight later; he also won on the flat in Auckland. Mako Mako was picked up for £5 in the Haymarket, unbroken, at seven years old, by Mr. Gus Sole, being sold cheap on account of being an accomplished buckjumper.—l am, etc.,
